In the Accounting field there is something called The Principle of Continuity: when stating financial information, one should assume that the business will not be interrupted. In other words, we should assume that the business will go on forever. As humans, we tend to use the same principle.
For instance I take my existence for granted. I have always been here and I will be here forever. We do not think of a lifespan, nor do we consider the two defined points of our life: birth and death.
I guess we should consider that as humans, at one point we will cease to exist. One should make the best out of his/her life.

What a sucky principle

Easier said than done. We’re too absorbed in our day to day lives to think of the bigger picture.

Taking things for granted is something instilled in us as we get used to our surroundings. it’s important that we remind ourselves that nothing lasts forever. and nothing has to go the way it’s supposed to go.

everyone should find his/her “os6orto el sh59yeh”

Sara,
Well don’t blame me, I didn’t invent it.
Extiinct,
I guess that’s the reason we tend to forget about it. But I guess from time to time we should stop and think about it.
Qabbani,
I adore that saying. Thank you.
Mazz,
Well said, Mazz.

Ostoorah as in legend?!
Well you know, that’s the thing that I always think about, and I guess it’s maybe a fault in me. I don’t have an ideal person to look up to, a person that I want to be like, or that I much respect.
Of course there are people around us that affect us with their actions, but there’s no one affected me so much to the point where he/she became my ostoora!!

btw i used to think that personal legend means what you just said..you know it’s not clear enough to say this concept “personal legend” without explaining what does it mean ..anyway read this
“Everything in the world has a personal legend, and by reaching one’s personal legend, they add to the Soul of the World, the purity of the world.
The problem is (according to the book) that most people ignore the things that are going to bring them closer to their personal legends. They live their lives according to the way they think they should (either because of influences by family, society, fear, etc.) instead of how they want to. Therefore, they are never completely happy and at the end of their lives they come to the realization that they never will reach their dreams because they never did the things that would get them there.” The Alchemist

Oh, now I got it. But the problem is you see, I’m not even close to figure out what I want to do with my life, I mean yes the major lines and all, but I don’t know what’s my personal dream, what I would like to achieve for myself. Let’s say for the time being I’m kind of lost.
You know, the Alchemist is by far one of the few book that I didn’t finish reading, I don’t know I just didn’t like it. Although it’s meaningful and all, but man I just hate Paolo Coelho, that guy gets on my nerves.

I never took my existence for granted. I always freak out at the idea of vanishing! I even dug whatever Islamic source I lay my hands on to search for this topic…and it is intimidating.

The idea itself is creepy. But I mean one way or another we’ll die.
